Something for Everyone: Verizon Wireless Adds New Channels to its Diverse V CAST Video Service

SAN FRANCISCO and BASKING RIDGE, N.J., Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- From CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment 2008 in San Francisco, Verizon Wireless, builder and operator of the nation's most reliable wireless voice and data network, today announced its customers can now choose to watch video clips from an even broader line-up of content on Verizon Wireless' V CAST Video service.

To meet ongoing customer demand for news, sports, weather and entertainment while on-the-go, Verizon Wireless has added the following channels to its V CAST Video service: "Tuned In" from 60Frames; Comedy Time Latino from Comedy Time; TLC, Animal Planet, Planet Green and Discovery Kids from Discovery Communications; ES Musica and Rock On: Altitude from GoTV Networks; the G4 Channel from Comcast Entertainment Group's G4; The WB Channel from Warner Bros. Television Group; SayHeyHey from SayHeyHey.com; the Relix Channel from Zenbu Media; HGTV and Food Network from Scripps Networks; and DC Comics and Scooby-Doo & Friends from Warner Bros. Digital Distribution.

"Verizon Wireless is constantly adding new V CAST Video programming from a variety of content partners in order to provide individualized entertainment for each one of our millions of V CAST customers," said Terry Denson, vice president, content strategy and acquisition at Verizon. "V CAST Video not only lets our customers view clips wherever and whenever they want, but it also lets customers satisfy all of their interests while on-the-go."

Customers with select V CAST-enabled phones can check out V CAST whenever they want for just $3.00 for 24-hour use or by signing up for the $15.00 V CAST VPak monthly subscription, which also includes access to Verizon Wireless' ESPN MVP, Get It Now(R) and Mobile Web services. Customers get unlimited basic video, but application download fees may apply for 3D games and premium video. There are no airtime or megabyte charges to download, stream or watch V CAST content with any V CAST subscription.
