Sessions to Address Managing the Competing Challenges of the Immediate Fight

NEW YORK, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- AVIATION WEEK, the largest multimedia information and services provider to the global aviation, aerospace and defense industries, today announced that it will present its 2008 Defense Technology & Requirements (DT&R) Conference on Feb. 12-13 at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. The conference is expected to attract more than 175 defense industry product and business segment leaders and staff members, business and technology development professionals, and government relations leaders.

Sessions at the conference will cover the impact of combat doctrines, requirements, funding, and program successes and hurdles. In addition, panel discussions and speakers will address the challenges in resetting and growing the US Army and Marine Corps to ensure both readiness and strategic reserve, and bolstering the ability of the US Air Force and Navy to deter and compel strategic competitors such as China.

"DT&R will provide unique insights into how the U.S. Department of Defense and Congress plan to spend development and procurement dollars this year," said Tom Henricks, president, AVIATION WEEK. "The conference will offer a first-look analysis of the 2008 defense program tradeoffs on current and future requirements, which have implications for all companies in the defense industry."

Attendees will hear from four keynote speakers:
    - Rep. Neil Abercrombie, D- HI, Chairman of the House Armed Services
    - Subcommittee on Air and Land Forces
    - Gen. James T. Conway, 34th Commandant of the Marine Corps
