BALTIMORE, Jan. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- To give consumers a better idea of its purpose and mission, the Better Mortgage Bureau has decided to change its name to Consumer Mortgage Bureau. By adding consumer to their name, the organization hopes to eliminate any confusion in the public's mind that they are anything but consumer driven.
The Consumer Mortgage Bureau is dedicated to providing consumers with the necessary tools and education needed to make informed home-buying decisions.
The mission of the Baltimore-based organization is to elevate consumer awareness through shared experiences and industry experts. Consumers can search the repository of all of the organization's members to find the mortgage professional that meets their needs. For the first time, consumers can be assured that their mortgage professional is licensed, trained and will adhere to the Consumer Mortgage Bureau code of ethics.
"It is the consumer's interest they have at heart," said Raymond David, Vice President of Kennedy Mortgage. "The Consumer Mortgage Bureau intends to protect consumers against mortgage fraud and other abuses."
The Consumer Mortgage Bureau says its name change will make consumers aware that they are a consumer driven organization. "We intend to make it crystal clear to the public who we are, what we stand for and what we do, so there will be no confusion whatsoever," said Lance Cassell, Managing Director of the Consumer Mortgage Bureau. "We see an industry that is losing its consumers' trust and we intend to revive it."
